SAILIND is an initiative aimed to engage with people and raise awareness about enhanced tourist experience especially for foreigners in India. As a result, we seek to unlock the untapped potential of India’s tourism industry, thereby improving lives.
We envision India where foreign tourists feel at ease at all times, and tourism plays a critical role in economic growth.
Our Story
Though Kalp lives in the UK now, he comes from India, where he has spent more than 25 years of his life. He continues to regularly visit India and has been fortunate to be able to visit many other countries including Germany, the USA, South Korea, Indonesia, Turkiye, the UAE, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Montenegro and Denmark. While travelling, he was always interested in the tourist experiences offered by these countries in terms of transportation, food, people’s behaviour, etc. Moreover, when meeting people from different places, he always wondered about their views on visiting India and often encouraged them to visit India.
However, the news on 3rd March 2024 about a Spanish couple on a road trip through India being assaulted, with the woman being raped, left him in dilemma. He struggled to convince himself that how can he ask people to visit India when such things can happen to them.
His desire to act and improve the tourist experience has brought SAILIND to life. Additionally, he understands that this will roll out various opportunities in terms of jobs, business, etc. for the people resulting in overall growth of the country.
